Free, confidential counselling for men, women, children, and youth across the South Okanagan. Our qualified counsellors provide a safe space to work through trauma, relationships, and personal challenges.
Counselling at Desert Sun
Our approach is trauma-informed, client-centred, and confidential. We work with you at your own pace, in a safe and non-judgmental environment. We also offer Fee for Service counselling for people whose needs cannot be met within our Ministry of Justice mandate.
All counselling at Desert Sun is provided free of charge. Your privacy is protected. What you share with your counsellor stays between you.

Men’s Counselling
Desert Sun offers individual and group counselling specifically for men who are working to improve their relationships, manage stress, reduce conflict, and develop healthier patterns of communication and behaviour.
Counselling is a sign of strength, not weakness. Our counsellors provide a safe, non-judgmental space where men can explore what’s getting in the way of the life and relationships they want.

Stopping the Violence Counselling
Free counselling for women age 19 and over addressing a range of challenges including childhood abuse, domestic violence, adult relationship trauma, and sexualized violence. Our counsellors are trained in trauma-informed approaches and provide a safe, respectful space to work toward healing at your own pace.
You do not need to have experienced crisis or violence to access counselling. If you are struggling - whatever the reason - we are here to help.
Child & Youth Counselling (PEACE Program)
Free counselling for children and youth ages 3 to 18 who have been exposed to intense family conflict or emotional abuse. Delivered in office and school-based settings, we meet young people where they are - literally and figuratively - working in partnership with School District 53 and the Osoyoos Indian Band to provide the best possible support.
Individual Counselling
Ages 3–18One-on-one counselling tailored to the age, needs, and communication style of each child or youth. Our counsellors use play-based approaches for younger children and more direct methods for older youth.
School-Based Counselling
In-SchoolDesert Sun counsellors work inside local schools through partnerships with School District 53 and the Osoyoos Indian Band, making it easier for children and youth to access support in a familiar environment.

In addition to counselling, Desert Sun offers crisis and safety services, parenting supports, seniors’ programs, and community resources - all free and confidential.
