Writing Out Loud is a 6-week group program that focuses on writing from the heart. We meet once a week for an hour to connect through writing in a fun and comfortable environment. No one sees your work but you. Spelling and grammar are not important and sharing what you write is optional. Writing from the heart helps people express their feelings, strengthens self-esteem, builds community and increases literacy skills. Journals and pens are provided. The program is free. In some programs child minding is available. This is for all levels of writers: people just starting to develop their writing skills or more experienced writers. Please join in!
If you are an organization interested in hosting Writing Out Loud, we ask you to provide space to meet and promotion of the program among your clients. The Writing Out Loud program provides posters and facilitation. There is no other cost to you, unless you would like to put out a snack or offer child minding. Writing Out Loud is offered in partnership with Okanagan College, Literacy Now and The Book Shop. We look forward to working with you!
Participants and organizations please contact Mary Kiviste at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 250 490-1323 if you are interested.
