What is Empty Bowls?
The core purpose of Empty Bowls is to raise funds for Desert Sun’s many, many community resources and projects.
The event is a dinner involving local restaurants, wineries, cideries and breweries. The dishes – one-of-a-kind soup bowls, handmade and donated by the Osoyoos Potters – are take-home souvineers for the event’s attendees.
Guests who attend the dinner get to choose their own soup bowl to use for the evening, to enjoy an assortment of different soups and desserts. Dinner is accompanied by bread and washed down with wine, cider or beer. All food, drink, and pottery is made locally, supporting and celebrating our local artists and artisans, while raising money for much needed community services.
Empty Bowls usually takes place late Fall and tickets can be purchased online before the event.
